There is no single best CPQ vendor in 2026, there are two shortlists. Product-complex manufacturers should look at Tacton, Configit, Epicor CPQ, Configure One, Hive CPQ and Experlogix, sometimes Cincom, plus SAP, Oracle or Salesforce where ERP/CRM gravity justifies it. Commercially complex sellers should look at Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, DealHub, Conga, and now ServiceNow. Which list is yours comes down to one question: is your complexity in the deal, or in the product? A few vendors span both lists, SAP and Oracle in particular, and Configit is backbone-first: a configuration platform with CPQ as one application on top.

We are CPQ practitioners who have implemented these systems since 2000. Full disclosure: cpq.se is a Tacton reseller and implementation partner for small and mid-sized manufacturers; for enterprise organizations we work as advisors. Unlike the review aggregators, we've sat in the workshops where these tools succeed or fail. This comparison is updated yearly, last full revision July 2026.

What changed in 2026: Conga completed its acquisition of the PROS B2B business on February 2, 2026, the B2B business, not all of PROS, moving the goalposts in pricing-led CPQ; Salesforce consolidated its pivot from classic CPQ to Agentforce Revenue Management; ServiceNow entered CPQ directly through its Logik.ai acquisition (announced April 3, 2025, closed Q2 2025), pulling CPQ further into the workflow-platform world; and AI-assisted quoting went from slideware to shipping features. Our take on what this means for manufacturers: CPQ for B2B manufacturing in 2026.

AI column, three tiers: shipping named AI capability, a feature you can find in release notes; platform AI where the CPQ-specific layer is unclear; and light public evidence. Whatever the label, make every vendor demo the AI on your product, not on slides.

Method: we rank by fit-for-purpose in manufacturing, based on implementation experience, publicly available information, and customer feedback, not by commission. We are a Tacton implementation partner and say so; the analysis stands on its own.

Enterprise suites

Salesforce Agentforce Revenue Management

The safest choice on paper for Salesforce-centric organizations, quoting lives where the CRM lives. Strong in subscription pricing, approvals and deal workflows. The weakness for manufacturers is product logic: deep engineering constraints require workarounds or third-party configurators. Salesforce's strategic product is now Agentforce Revenue Management (formerly Revenue Cloud); legacy Salesforce CPQ remains available for existing customers but gets no new feature development, evaluate the new product, not the one in older reviews.

SAP CPQ

The default when SAP runs your ERP and you want quoting close to the order backbone. Solid variant configuration heritage (LO-VC/AVC lineage) and tight pricing integration. Costs and implementation complexity are real; SAP-first governance suits SAP-first companies. On AI, SAP's strength is the broader business-AI stack (Joule); public evidence for a CPQ-native AI layer is mixed, SAP's own documentation notes the SAP CPQ–CX AI integration is obsoleted as of release 2608, so ask specifically what ships inside CPQ. Our detailed comparison: SAP CPQ vs Tacton CPQ.

Oracle CPQ

One of the most mature enterprise CPQs (ex-BigMachines), strong for large sales organizations with heavy approval flows and Oracle stacks. The 26C release added a guided Configuration AI-Assist Agent, and Oracle was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ for the 9th consecutive time. Our practitioner judgment, not an analyst finding: it remains heavy for European mid-market manufacturing, where its weight is rarely justified.

Manufacturing specialists

Tacton CPQ

The constraint-solver approach: instead of scripting if-then rules, you model the product's constraints and the solver guarantees every configuration is valid, which is why it handles genuinely complex engineered products (cranes, trucks, machinery) that break rule-scripted tools. Needs-based guided selling and strong CAD/design automation integration. Tacton was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ for the 4th consecutive year, and launched its AI Product Modeling Assistant in May 2026. We implement Tacton and it's what we know best, see what makes Tacton CPQ unique and Tacton CPQ customer reviews.

Configit

Best understood backbone-first: a Configuration Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform powered by Virtual Tabulation (pre-compiled configuration spaces), with CPQ as one application layer on top. One configuration truth across sales, engineering and manufacturing, strongest at automotive/industrial enterprise scale. In 2026 Configit added Ace Prompt, a generative-AI assistant for building configuration models. Head-to-head: Tacton vs Configit.

Epicor CPQ (formerly KBMax)

The visual configuration specialist, 3D, drag-and-drop, CAD automation, now part of Epicor. Natural choice in Epicor ERP shops and for products sold visually. The 2026.1 release added AI-assisted configuration. Note that Epicor still markets through KBMax-branded properties, so don't be thrown when research leads you to KBMax sites.

Revalize (Configure One)

Configure One is now part of the Revalize portfolio alongside other engineering-software brands. Sensible mid-market choice, especially in North America. No distinctive named AI capability has been announced publicly. Given the portfolio structure, ask for the product-specific roadmap, and for who owns support, during diligence.

Pricing-led and emerging vendors

Conga (+ PROS B2B)

Conga completed its acquisition of the PROS B2B business on February 2, 2026, the B2B business, not all of PROS. Conga's document/contract heritage combined with PROS price-optimization science makes this the pricing-intelligence play. For context: in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ, PROS is named a Leader and Conga a Challenger. Relevant if your pain is price realization more than product validity, see our take on price waterfalls and CPQ.

ServiceNow (Logik.ai)

ServiceNow entered CPQ directly with its acquisition of Logik.ai (announced April 3, 2025, closed Q2 2025) and markets AI-powered CPQ tied tightly to its Sales and Order Management workflows. Relevant if you are a workflow-centric enterprise already running ServiceNow; not yet a first call for engineered manufacturing.

DealHub

Fast-to-deploy mid-market suite with strong deal-room UX. Better for sales-process complexity than product complexity.

Cincom CPQ

Long-standing specialist with presence in medical and complex-service verticals, it shows up consistently in medical device CPQ evaluations. There is visible AI development (an AI Configuration Assistant), but the public story remains rules-driven manufacturing CPQ.

Experlogix and Hive CPQ

Mid-market specialists worth shortlisting. Experlogix aligns natively with the Dynamics 365 and Salesforce data models and brings multi-tier pricing, BOM/routing automation and AI-powered productivity features, a serious option in Microsoft-centric manufacturing. Hive CPQ is a European option built around dealer and distributor collaboration; its Hive AI processes incoming RFQs, guides buyers through configuration, and accelerates configurator building.

How to shortlist a CPQ vendor in 5 steps

  1. Locate your complexity. Deal complexity (contracts, subscriptions, approvals) → enterprise suite. Product complexity (variants, engineering rules, BOMs) → manufacturing specialist. This single question eliminates half the market.
  2. Count your integration gravity. Your ERP and CRM landscape shortlists vendors for you, fighting your stack doubles implementation cost. See CPQ vs CRM.
  3. Test with your ugliest product. Demo scripts use friendly products. Bring the product line with the most exceptions and watch the modelers, not the salesperson.
  4. Price the project, not the license. Implementation, modeling and maintenance typically exceed license cost in the first years, what CPQ really costs.
  5. Check analyst context, then ignore the hype. The Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ is useful for market context, but quadrant position says nothing about fit for your product.

CPQ license models and pricing

Most vendors price per user per month (EUR 100–200 for mid-market manufacturing SaaS is a realistic planning range), with enterprise suites above that and newer revenue-based or per-quote models appearing. Watch for: minimum user counts, modeling/sandbox environment fees, integration connector licensing, and price escalators at renewal. Full breakdown with real figures: CPQ price per month.

The bottom line

Don't look for a ranking, build the right shortlist. Product-complex manufacturers: Tacton, Configit, Epicor CPQ, Configure One, Hive CPQ and Experlogix, sometimes Cincom, plus SAP, Oracle or Salesforce where ERP/CRM gravity justifies it. Commercial complexity: Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, DealHub, Conga, and now ServiceNow. Remember that SAP and Oracle span both lists, that Configit is backbone-first rather than a quoting tool, and whichever way you lean: run step 3 above before you sign anything.

Frequently asked questions

In the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPQ, Oracle (a Leader for the 9th consecutive time), Tacton (4th consecutive year) and PROS are named Leaders, with Conga placed as a Challenger. In practice 'leader' depends on your complexity: for engineered products the constraint-based specialists lead; for deal-led selling, the CRM suites do.
